August 14, 2025. Well, today is the day that we start the return journey back east. Decided to take a bit of a southern approach because I want to have lunch in Memphis! So, here we go. A 6 hour drive east to Pratt, KS. We stayed at the Bixler Art Barn. Hard to describe just what an amazing place this is. Dick Bixler and his wife have an amazing ranch, but he’s done with ranching and is now an accomplished artist (mostly steel) and a member of the vibrant Pratt art community. They are set up as a B&B, an event space and a gallery. In the forest there is a Faeirie labyrinth and a few other surprises. Oh…there’s also a 2-hole golf course! Wonderful folks, and we would like to commission Dick to do a piece for our house.
