Well, there we were in Spring Island SC celebrating the new year with Lea Ann’s parents, and preparing to head off on our western journey. Sad to say that we got a call that our great, great friend Jim Callahan (pictured) had suddenly passed away on New Years Day morning. We knew at once that Jim’s widow, Dani, would need us close to help with the arrangements…and just to be around. So, we put the trip on a 10-day hold, loaded up the Chevy with Chester and some clothes…and drove straight back to Connecticut. It’s a sad time…but we are grateful for our friends….and there’s nothing that would keep us from being there for Dani and her boys.
