Super Bowl Sunday 2026. After a 4 hour drive across New Mexico, we decided to treat ourselves to a hotel room to watch the Super Bowl. Great hotel, with wonderful mountain views. Unfortunately, the TV in the room would not tune NBC, so we took our Apple stream box from the RV and plugged it
February 6-7, 2026. Happy to report that we have completed our crossing of Texas. 880 miles. We were expecting a fairly boring drive. Wrong. Texas is amazing! Spent the night at New Mexico State’s golf course. No tee times available due to a tournament, but a nice restaurant and a peaceful night.
Well…WE MADE IT OUT OF TEXAS! What an interesting 880 miles. The foliage changes with the elevation. Plains, hills, buttes, mountains. East Texas was pretty much sea level, and by the time we got to El Paso, we were at 4000 feet!

February 2, 2026. We stayed at a wildlife rescue in Vinton…about 4 miles from the Texas border. All kinds of wonderful animal running around free. Horses, goats, piggies, chickens to mention a few. Wonderful hosts on a great mission!

February 1, 2026. The Big Easy! Still a bit chilly down here, but that did not stop us from exploring the French Quarter and coffee and begniets at Cafe du Monde. The city is clearly winding up for this year’s Mardis Gras…we were a bit relieved that we were a week early for that🤣. Stayed
