October 22, 2025. Now heading north and west to Vermont. Our last night in Maine would be spent in Sidney, at the Misty Acres Alpaca farm. Lea Ann is knitting a throw with Alpaca yarn that she has picked up along our journey. The animals here are beautiful! And the farm itself is delightful!
October 21, 2025. After exiting Acadia, we headed west to Bucksport. This is a quiet little town on the Penobscot River. We stayed at the Bucksport Golf Club where we enjoyed a quick 9 holes before the rain came. Really a gem of a golf course. We had dinner in town…and the best piece of
October 21, 2025. Wow. Acadia is amazing. We weren’t sure if the park would be open or not (gov’t shutdown)….but it was, and it was delightful. We did the park loop drive…about 30 miles of the most spectacular scenery and vistas that you could imagine. Stunning!

October 20, 2025. Heading even farther east, we arrived at the Family Bee. This is an art studio and gallery on the bay in Milbridge. Francie (owner) is really nice, and we enjoyed seeing her beautiful home and stunning property! This would be our jumping off point for the next day’s drive through Acadia National
October 19, 2025. Heading farther “downeast”, we headed to Wiscasset, ME. We stayed at the Maine Tasting Center, which is a state run attraction designed to show off the culinary delights that Maine has to offer (besides lobster). The charcuterie was awesome, and the folks there were very nice!

October 17, 2025. We started our fall New England leaf peeping tour in Portsmouth RI at the home of our long time friends Sue and Kevin Keogh. Sue and Lea Ann have known each other for at least 30 years. Sue was a figure skating judge when Lea Ann was skating…they go WAY back!
October 10-12 2025. Litchfield is only a 90 minute drive from our house, so it makes a perfect spot for an impromptu weekend getaway. The leaves are a bit less than spectacular this year due to drought condition in the Northeast…but still plenty to see and do. The apple picking was awesome!
September 7-9 2025 We decided at the last minute to take a little getaway to the Berkshire Mountains of western Mass.
