April 17-18, 2026. Well…we had to head east at some point. Because the weather is still fairly unpredictable in the Sierras this time of year, we took advantage of a weather window that would get us safely through the Donner pass and into Nevada. The mountains were amazing…and still snow at the summit. (We learned later that there was another snow dump a few days after we passed through!) We spent the night at a lovely winery in Lovelock. Nice wine…nicer people. And some really cute farm animals!
